Tour Package

Bhutan is a country blessed by nature and adorned with the art and colours of Buddhism. Everywhere you will experience the beauty of nature and enjoy the contrast in the flora and fauna at the different altitudes: blue pine, spruce and rhododendron and oak at the higher altitudes and exotic plants such as chirr pine, magnolia trees and cactae in the lower-altitude valleys. Depending on the season of your visit, enjoy the scenes of farmers at work in the terraced rice fields, impressive traditional farmhouses dotting the countryside, bright red chillies drying on the house roofs, and fluttering prayer-flags whispering messages of compassion. Wherever you go, breathe in the fresh, pure air of the Himalayas.

Turn huge prayer wheels in temples dating back to the 7th century. Enter the vast courtyards of impressive fortress-monasteries (dzongs) and watch the red-robed monks of all ages at prayer and at play. Take a half-day hike to the renowned Taktsang temple (the “Tiger’s Nest”), perched on the edge of a steep precipice, at a height of 3000 metres. Visit the huge outdoor Buddha, the National museum, art schools, textile workshops and the Institute for traditional medicine.

Immerse yourself in the colours of the Bhutanese landscape – dark green forests, deep blue gushing rivers, bright blue skies and snow-capped mountain peaks – colours that mingle and contrast with the vivid art of the temple murals, the silk thangka wall hangings and the exquisitely carved interiors and exteriors of buildings.

Bhutanese food always comes with chilli but you can try out some classic Bhutanese dishes either toned down or at full strength.  Depending on the season, enjoy the local delicacies such as red rice, fern shoots, ‘matsutake’ and other mushrooms, meat or vegetable dumplings (momo) and exotic fruits from the lower altitudes. Taste the spicy Bhutanese dish of chillies and cheese – if you dare!
